Tips & Notes
1- You can also add different vegetable toppings if you like to have vegetarian stuffed zucchini. I have used bacon, tomato, and onion with salt and pepper. You can use ground beef, or other veggies of your choice. Just make sure to cook the meat items first before adding them to your zucchinis.
2- A medium size air fryer can accommodate 4 medium-sized zucchinis, you can reduce the quantity, if your air fryer basket is small.
3- Let the zucchinis rest for 1-2 minutes before serving.
4- Cheese may drip down and create a mess in your air fryer, so you can use aluminum foil as a zucchinis base.
5- The precise cooking time for stuffed zucchinis can vary based on the performance of different air fryers. So, keep an eye on the last moments if you are cooking them for the first time, it will give you a better idea of the precise cooking time.
6- You can use low crab breadcrumbs if you are concerned about crab and calorie count.
7- Instead of ground beef, you can use chicken or beef sausages as well.
8- For softer zucchini, you can cook them for 7-8 minutes at 360 F.
Different Topping Options For Stuffed Zucchinis
You can include a variety of ingredients for their fillings such as ground meat, vegetables, cheese, herbs, and spices.
If you are a vegetarian, then instead of using any meat, add a variety of vegetables. Some of my favorite toppings are black beans, jalapenos, bell peppers, tomatoes, and black olives.
If you are a meat lover, then create a mix of meats for a more satisfying filling. The options I use are pepperonis, ground beef, bacon and ground turkey.
