Can I use store-bought phyllo pastry sheets for making baklava in the air fryer?
Yes, for sure. I am also using store-bought phyllo sheets. They are available both in frozen and fresh form in many grocery stores. These phyllo sheets are mainly made from wheat flour which means they are not gluten-free.
What types of nuts can be used for filling in baklava?
Pistachios are mainly used for baklava fillings. However, you can use other nuts such as almonds, cashew nuts, and walnuts. Pecans can also be used in baklava, although they are less traditional. They have a sweet and buttery flavor that adds a distinct taste to the dessert.

I cook baklava at 400 F in the air fryer. The cooking time may vary depending on how many phyllo sheets you are using to bake baklava. I have used 4 layers and that’s why only 8 minutes were required. If you are using more phyllo layers, then cooking time will increase depending on the thickness.

Some people prefer to top the baklava with sweet maple syrup. You can make it easily on the stove. Add 50-gram brown sugar, 100 ml maple syrup, and 200 ml water into a saucepan. Gently mix and add a pinch of pink salt. Cook on a medium flame for 3-5 minutes. Turn off the heat after boiling.
