How To Make Fresh Potato Steak Fries In The Air Fryer

Homemade steak fries are also delicious but require a little more work to be done. The rest of the process is the same as cooking frozen steak fries but you have to do some prep steps initially.

Take Russet potatoes and wash them well. Then cut each potato into three halves and then cut each half further into three slices. This way you can make 9 wedges per potato. Soak the potato wedges in cold water for 5 minutes to get rid of some extra starch from the potatoes.

You will also be needing some seasoning and olive oil. Take a bowl and add potato wedges to the bowl, then add paprika, black pepper, and salt. Coat the wedges well. You can also use steak seasoning as well for a delightful taste.

Preheat your air fryer to 400 F and cook the fries at 390 F for 12-14 minutes shaking them halfway through.

What Are Some Tips For Achieving Extra Crispy Steak Fries In An Air Fryer

You can make your steak fries crispier by following some simple advice. First, always preheat your air fryer before cooking them. Preheating helps to cook the frozen food faster and at the same time prevents it from sticking to the air fryer basket. Secondly, cook them slightly longer, not too long but 1-2 minutes more. This extra time makes the corners a little brown and extra crispy. But make sure not to overcook them too much or else they will get burnt and will lose overall taste.
